What is Mentor Coaching?
The ICF defines Mentor Coaching as:
"Mentor Coaching for an ICF Credential consists of coaching and feedback in a collaborative, appreciative and dialogued process based on an observed or recorded coaching session to increase the coach’s capability in coaching, in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies. Mentor Coaching is a required part of your ICF coach certification application. The ICF requires coaches to complete 10 hours of Mentor Coaching, over a minimum length of time of 3 months by a qualified Mentor Coach."

ACC or PCC - which applies to me?
The big differentiator between ACC and PCC is number of training hours, and number of coaching hours. Here's the basic breakdown (below). Also if you're overwhelmed - just book a free Intro Call below and we can demystify it together.
Associate Certified Coach (ACC)
60+ Hours Training
100+ Hours Coaching Experience
Professional Certified Coach (PCC)
125+ Hours Training
500+ Hours Coaching Experience
I have to record a client call?
Yes - although this is way easier than it can sound. We'll talk about your options for this, and you'll feel super prepared.
Who can be a Mentor Coach?
You are required to have been mentor coached by a coach who holds an ICF ACC, PCC, or MCC Credential with the ICF.
How is Mentor Coaching different than Supervision?
Supervision is a way of working together to process things that might come up in your sessions with your clients, and talk about how you are doing as a coach. Mentoring is coaching solely to develop you as a coach.
Does it matter which country I'm located in?
All coaching is done via Zoom or the phone, so you can be based in any country, or traveling throughout our engagement together. Current clients are based all over the world.

Here's the thing with coaching. It is finding its legs as a professional industry. That means lots of coaches are running their businesses with no training, supervisions or mentoring, and that means the standards of coaching happening are all across the board. Which both presents a problem and an opportunity for you. The problem: you're talking to an ideal client, and they are super skeptical of coaching because they knew a coach once that was too "woo woo" or called themselves a guru... you know the story. And you are screaming inside "ah but that's not me!" And it's not you.
The opportunity here is to present yourself professionally as someone who is invested in their business and profession, and is involved in the professional field. One way to do that, is to credential with the top professional coaching body, and become a credentialed coach.
